Cases de Bàrcena
This traditional farming village celebrates its patron saint holidays in October, paying homage to the Mare de Déu del Pilar. Clavaris and neighbours revere her image in an 18th century hermitage, and celebrate it by transferring the Saint to the house of the clavari major. There are fireworks day and night with dancing and meals.
This district has another very popular festa, our Lady of the Rosary, during which the clavaris carry the image to the sound of music and firecrackers. The following day at dawn, the Rosary is recited and people are invited to have breakfast. The procession takes place afterwards, taking the Lady back to her shrine. Different festive activities are scheduled like paella-cooking competitions, fireworks, dinners, and the distribution of stew dishes.
