On the third Sunday of July, the borough of Mauella pays tribute to Saint Benedict at a small Hermitage. The festes begin with the sound of bells. The image of Saint Benedict is carried in a procession along the streets and is accompanied by neighbours and cheerful music played by the band and the noise of fireworks.
During the festival, people have stew, remembering the meals the poor had in former times. The event is a meeting point for gourmets, with exquisite dishes made with pork and vegetables being distributed to everybody. The festival finishes with fireworks again, bringing a lively end to the holidays.
