Carpesa
Carpesa celebrates its patron saints, Our Lady of the Rosary, the Christ of Piety, Saints Abdon and Sennen, and Saint Roch at the end of August.
All these celebrations are held consecutively, including traditional religious activities and morning fireworks, mascletaes, and night firework displays. On Saint Roch’s day, the clavaris and the neighbours go to the Hermitage to have their rotllos (buns) blessed in mass.
Other festivities in Carpesa are Saint Anthony in January, when horses are decorated for the priest to bless them. Meat stew dishes and vegetables from the surrounding fields are distributed to all residents.
Other festive activities in July include gigantic paellas and sausage sandwiches which are prepared for the festes.
